Still here being random

Hi folks. Just letting anyone who is interested know that I did not drop off the face of the Earth. There have been a few reasons I haven't blogged in a couple of days. I was in kind of a blah mood and down on myself for some reason and just didn't feel like talking or writing. Also my shoulder has been hurting pretty badly and sometimes it hurts to type. It's feeling better now since I went back to the chiropractor again yesterday. When I finally got out of my mood slump, I started a project, so I was a little busy with it yesterday. I'll post about it when I'm finished. For now, a few random thoughts.

The other day, I was reminded about something my youngest nephew said a few years ago. And every time I think of it, it makes me laugh. He was about four years old and still wanted a pacifier. He knew that he was too old for it but he just couldn't help himself, he wanted it. One day when we were riding somewhere with him in my sister's car, he asked her if he could have it. She gave it to him. Then he said "I hate this thing for me wanting it so bad." Then stuck it in his mouth. Mr. McHacker and I say that he was a self-aware addict at four years old. Now sometimes when I want some chocolate, I tell Mr. McHacker that I hate that stuff for me wanting it so bad but I just can't help myself. I'm a self aware addict at thirty.

I started the last paragraph with "the other day." Now sometimes that phrase is literal, as in it just happened a few days ago. But sometimes I'll say "the other day" when I'm talking about something that happened months (or years) ago. I picked this up from my friend P. when we were in college. He said it was easier to just say "the other day" than to actually figure out when something really happened. I've come to agree with him on that.

Sometimes I start sentences with and or but. I know you're not supposed to do that. But I like to do it anyway, just because I can. I know you're thinking, "wow, what a rebel."

We're going to have dinner with some friends at Old Venice tonight and I'm excited about that. We haven't eaten there in a while and some yummy Italian food sounds good. I LOVE Italian food. The company will be good too. I really enjoy going out with friends and since I don't have many, it's a lot of fun for me when we go out.

I guess that's enough randomness for now. I think I'll go work on my project and then get ready to go. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

You and I start sentences with "and" or "but", because we're just finishing sentences that other people started.

If people thought things through like we do, we wouldn't have to pick up the slack and add another clause ;)

Ain't our fault.

Oooo, a project? That sounds like fun. Can't wait to hear about it.

Ooops! I forgot to finish that one. The attack of the mommy-brain. It get's me every time. I was going to say that I hope you aren't feeling down on yourself anymore. Everyone's gotta have their slump days, but they sure aren't fun. Enjoy dinner!
